Content Management Systems

All of our sites apart from those created entirely in flash are built using a content management system. CMS's are extremely powerful systems. Virtually any type of site can built, from simple 5 page brochure sites to ecommerce solutions and social networks. Our choice of CMS is Joomla!, an open source system. The benefits to the system are it's ease of use for clients. Even non-technical clients will find that managing their site is a very simple process. Whenever you need to add or update content on your site including pictures you simply login to the system and make any changes with a few clicks. No programming knowledge is needed as a WYSIWYG editor is available to edit any text.   

Dynamic & Database Driven

Joomla! is built using php and mysql. Creating sites which need to be dynamic and have to pull information from databases then isn't a problem. Whatever your idea, at GG designs we will make sure that idea becomes a reality. 

Open Source

One of the main reasons for choosing Joomla! as the CMS is because it is open source. Content management systems in the past have been prohibitively expensive, preventing individuals and small businesses from utilising them. With Joomla! being open source it means it's completely free to distribute and modify. The benefits of open source are that the cost of development is less for both the designer and the client. If you asked for a custom CMS you would have to pay a small fortune and you would not have the benefit of the 1000's of hours of testing which an open source system has gone through.
